Children's Athletics 2009/2010First Club Night: Childrens' athletics will commence on Tuesday 27 October 2009.
Registration nights will be held at the Lake City Clubrooms at Neil Hunt Park on: Tuesday 13 October 2009 at 5.30pm Tuesday 20 October 2009 at 5.30pm

Welcome to the Lake City Children's athletics for the 2009/2010 season
Club nights for 5 to 11 year old children: - Tuesday nights - At the Athletic Track, No 2 ground International Stadium Devon Street - 5 to 6.00pm - First club night – Tuesday 27th October 2009
Club nights for children 12 years & older: - Wednesday nights (with the senior club members) - At the Athletic Track, No 2 ground International Stadium Devon Street - 6 to 7.30pm - First club night – Wednesday 28th October 2009

Mike Corboy Training For those of you who are interested in furthering your athletics ability with extra training, we have the opportunity of excellent coaching with Mike Corboy. Mike runs a squad of dedicated athletes of all ages who meet regularly 2-3 times a week and he welcomes any new athletes who would be interested in participating. His athletes have always performed very well at Regional and National events and his focus is on improving ‘personal best‘ ability (pb‘s). You can contact Mike on 07 315 4947 or cell 027 7345638.

Events to watch for: North Island Colgate Games Jan 8-10 2010 Mt Smart Stadium, Auckland. Grade 7-14yrs. No qualification standards however entries will be via the Club, closing date early November. No late entries accepted. South Island Colgate Games Jan 15-17 2010, Aorangi Stadium, Timaru. Grade 7-14yrs. No qualification standards however entries will be via the Club, closing date early November. No late entries accepted. Area Qualifying Champs Bay of Plenty Saturday 20 Feb 2010 will be held at Lake City on Saturday Feb 20th. Waikato-BOP Children’s Athletics Champs Grade 7-14yrs 6th Mar 2010 9.30am start, at Tauranga Domain. Qualification via Area Champs. Grade 14, U16 & U18 Inter-Provincials 23rd Jan 2010 Waitakere Stadium, Auckland. Athletes are selected on performances throughout the season and must be proficient in 3 events Grade 12 & 13 NZ Inter-Provincials 3trd & 4th April 2010 (Easter) Invercargill. Selection based on proficiency over 4 events, nominations by the Club.
Ribbon Days & Track Meets Ribbon Days around the Waikato/BoP give kids the taste of competition with local clubs.
- To compete children need only turn up for a 10.00am start - Registered in Lakes City uniform with their Colgate flash - No entry costs – just buy a program and join in! - A ribbon day is on most Saturdays somewhere around the region – check the calendar below - Haven’t got transport – ask there will be someone going that may be able to help?!
